Frontier Colony · Failed Civilisation

ALPHA OMEGA 5

Some worlds fall to war.

Others rot long before the first shot is fired.

Alpha Omega 5 is a colony at the edge of civilisation where law has become memory, order has collapsed into violence, and survival belongs to whoever can take it and keep it.

It was never meant to become this.

Once, Alpha Omega 5 was sold as a frontier of opportunity — an industrial colony built to support expansion, commerce and human ambition beyond the stable heart of Zeusian space.

Instead, it became a graveyard for those promises.

Corporations withdrew. Infrastructure failed. Authority disappeared. And what remained was left to govern itself.

The result is a world where power is brutally simple:

If you can defend it, you own it.

Its cities are vast industrial labyrinths of rusted megastructures, collapsed transit arteries and claustrophobic streets buried beneath layers of steel, smog and neglect. Towers built for efficiency now house gangs, mercenaries and entire populations who have never known anything beyond decay.

Neon still burns. Advertisements still flicker. Corporate slogans still promise better lives to people whose employers abandoned them generations ago.

The machines kept selling the dream long after the dream died.

Below them, the streets remain alive.

Gang patrols move between territories. Mercenaries sell violence to the highest bidder. Scavengers strip corpses and wreckage for anything worth trading.

Every alley is neutral ground until someone decides it is not.

For years, much of Alpha Omega 5 existed beneath the influence of the Cobra Clan and its legendary leader, Moon Ji-sub — “M.”

Under M, brutality at least possessed structure.

The Cobras controlled territory, trade and fear with enough authority to impose something resembling stability.

But empires built around one man rarely survive his decline.

As M’s health began to fail, the balance fractured.

The Nameless moved from the shadows. The Sanguine Vultures prepared for open bloodshed. Smaller factions began choosing sides. And the colony moved toward another cycle of war.

There are no clean factions here.

Only predators with different philosophies.

Some worship steel.

Some worship strength.

Some trade in information.

Some have surrendered so much of themselves to cybernetic augmentation that humanity has become almost incidental.

Others simply kill because violence is the only language the colony ever taught them.

Even Zeusian law enforcement has become little more than machinery and residue — automated weapons and old systems attempting to enforce rules written for a world that no longer exists.

Alpha Omega 5 does not sleep.

It survives.

That distinction matters.

Every light in the skyline belongs to someone. Every street has a price. Every alliance has an expiry date. And every throne eventually becomes vacant.

This is not a world waiting to be saved.

It is a world waiting to see who survives the next night.

Because on Alpha Omega 5—

civilisation did not end.

It simply stopped pretending.
