The Centipede is what happens when the Ag’nagaruth decide that two arms and two legs are not enough.

It is built for movement. For climbing. For getting into places no human body was ever meant to reach.

The transformation begins with the spine. Vertebrae elongate, split and restructure as the torso stretches into a segmented, chitin-armoured frame. Additional limbs erupt along the flanks, each ending in hooked claws capable of gripping metal, stone and composite surfaces with equal ease.

The result is a creature that no longer moves like anything human.

It crawls. It coils. It folds itself through spaces that should be impossible. Then it comes out somewhere else.

The Centipede is especially dangerous aboard ships, orbital stations and industrial complexes. Maintenance shafts, ventilation ducts, ceiling cavities, collapsed service tunnels and vertical access routes all become viable approaches.

A sealed door may stop a Husk.

A barricade may slow a Brute.

The Centipede simply uses the ceiling.

Its chitinous outer plating gives the creature unusual resistance to small-arms fire, particularly across the back and upper segments. The overlapping armour plates shift as it moves, creating a dry clicking sound that survivors often hear seconds before contact.

That sound has become infamous.

Not loud. Not dramatic. Just the rapid scrape of too many limbs moving where nothing should be moving.

Its speed is deceptive.

On open ground, the Centipede may appear awkward, its segmented body undulating as the limbs fight for purchase.

Inside a structure, it becomes something else entirely.

Walls become floors. Ceilings become roads. Corners cease to matter.

It can change direction almost instantly, folding the front of its body around obstacles while the remaining segments continue driving forward.

Engagements rarely remain predictable for long.

The head retains fragments of humanoid anatomy in some specimens, though these features are often stretched beneath plates of hardened growth. The jaw may split wider than normal, while sensory organs migrate into clusters designed to detect vibration, movement and heat.

Once prey is located, the Centipede closes quickly.

Its forward limbs pin. Its middle limbs anchor. Its rear limbs drive.

The victim is trapped beneath a living machine of claws and chitin.

Some variants appear capable of using their length as a weapon, wrapping around targets or constricting movement long enough for lesser possessed to converge.

This makes them especially effective in narrow corridors.

One creature can block an entire route. A second can attack from above. A third can emerge behind you.

The Centipede does not need to overpower a defensive position.

It only needs to get around it.

And that is what makes it dangerous.

The Ag’nagaruth do not see architecture as protection.

They see it as terrain.

Every shaft. Every wall. Every hidden maintenance route. Every dark space above the ceiling.

The Centipede was made to use them all.

So when the clicking starts overhead—
do not look up.
Run.
