HOUSE LEVIATHAN

There are wars Zeus intends to win.

Then there are wars it sends to Leviathan.

Officially designated the Supreme War House of Zeus, Leviathan is not simply another branch of the imperial military. It stands above conventional armies, fleets and planetary commands — a sovereign instrument of total warfare unleashed when ordinary force is no longer considered enough.

Leviathan does not arrive to restore order.

It arrives to end the problem.

Its fleets prosecute invasions, suppress rebellions, enforce quarantines and confront threats judged capable of endangering the empire itself. Its commanders possess authority capable of overruling governors, admirals and civilian law.

When Leviathan enters a theatre of war, negotiation has usually already failed.

Sometimes it was never intended to begin.

Leviathan answers when all else fails.

Within its ranks, war is more than strategy.

It is faith.

Leviathan warships resemble armoured cathedrals drifting through the void: Gothic towers rising from kilometres of armour, weapon batteries buried beneath religious iconography, gilded scripture carved beside reactor chambers and neural interfaces.

Industry is devotion. Obedience is worship. War is sacrament.

Its soldiers are conditioned accordingly.

Through indoctrination, psychological reconstruction, neural modification and relentless combat conditioning, Leviathan strips hesitation from those serving beneath its banner. Fear is not eliminated because courage demands it.

Fear is eliminated because fear interferes with orders.

The result is an army capable of continuing long after ordinary forces would collapse.

Decompression. Contamination. Catastrophic casualties.

It does not matter.

The mission continues.

That mentality produced one of Leviathan’s darkest doctrines during humanity’s wars with the Ag’nagaruth:

No life, no corruption.

If an infected population cannot be saved with certainty, it can be destroyed with certainty.

Cities have been purged. Ships scuttled. Colonies burned from orbit. Entire biospheres sacrificed.

Leviathan does not record such operations as atrocities.

It records them as successful containment.

Its arsenal reflects the same philosophy. Monumental capital ships carry armies, autonomous war machines, orbital weapons and Phaser systems powerful enough to turn a single vessel into a mobile invasion force.

Among them stood the legendary Salamis — a fortress of iron commanded by Commodore Dukas and built to endure wars that would destroy lesser fleets.

But even Leviathan discovered that some enemies cannot simply be overwhelmed.

The Ag’nagaruth corrupt flesh. Machines. Memory. Faith. Even the ships sent to destroy them.

That revelation did not make Leviathan cautious.

It made Leviathan more dangerous.

Because catastrophe does not teach the House restraint.

It teaches escalation.

Across Zeusian space, Leviathan is simultaneously worshipped and feared.

To the faithful, it is humanity’s final shield.

To its enemies, it is imperial judgement made flesh.

To a contaminated colony watching its warships descend through the clouds, the meaning is less certain.

Leviathan may have come to save you.

Or it may have decided there is nothing left to save.

Either way—
Leviathan has arrived.
