The Pantheon War began when humanity discovered that not every enemy arrives in a ship.
The Ag’nagaruth came through corruption.
Human civilisation entered the conflict exhausted. The Holy War had drained worlds of wealth, stability and hope. Poverty, crime and social collapse had spread across territories governed by Zeus.
The Ag’nagaruth did not create those weaknesses.
They used them.
The Whisper offered different salvation to different victims.
For some, corruption developed gradually. Behaviour changed. Paranoia deepened. Violence followed.
For others, transformation was immediate.
From those first victims came the hordes.
Cities collapsed within days as every death risked becoming another enemy.
Humanity’s greatest military strength became a liability.
Armies sent to fight the Ag’nagaruth could become Ag’nagaruth themselves.
Zeus responded with extermination.
The logic was monstrous, but simple:
No life. No corruption.
Humanity began destroying its own worlds to deny them to the enemy.
The war became as psychological as it was physical.
Soldiers questioned allies.
Commanders sacrificed millions to save billions.
Trust vanished.
Morality became another resource consumed by survival.
Eventually, Zeus realised brute force alone would never be enough.
Kraken and Leviathan collaborated to create Charybdis, a secretive research and strategic apparatus dedicated to combating the Ag’nagaruth.
Its first major breakthrough came in 1048 RZ with the Indoctrination Programme—neural modification and psycho-spiritual conditioning intended to shield soldiers from the Whisper.
By 1050 RZ, the programme became mandatory across Zeus military forces.
Then came another crisis.
Warp travel itself had become lethal.
Ag’nagaruth interference isolated human worlds and crippled fleets.
In 1100 RZ, Charybdis initiated the Phaser Project, creating systems and augmented navigators capable of guiding ships through unstable warp conditions.
Humanity returned to the stars.
And for the first time, it began pushing back.
The mysterious Order of the Corinthians followed.
Yet they killed Ag’nagaruth with terrifying effectiveness.
The war continued.
By 2100 RZ, the conflict had consumed a thousand cycles.
Humanity had endured.
The Ag’nagaruth had not been defeated.
So Zeus stopped planning for another victory.
It began planning for the end.
Armageddon.
